'Letter' Cesanese del Piglio DOCG 2024

25,00

'Letter' is our workhorse, in the true sense of the word! This wine is a tribute to our horse and passion for art, values that guide our lives.

Lettera comes from the hills of Alta Ciociaria in the heart of Lazio, the land of Cesanese del Piglio DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita), the excellence among red wines of the area. Cesanese is an indigenous grape variety with a thousand-year history handed down by the Benedictine monks of Subiaco that still retains its aromatic richness and typical character of the territory. We decided to start producing Cesanese after falling madly in love with a hill next to our house that is perfect for this type of grape variety. A hill that offers ideal exposure in an unspoiled area surrounded by olive trees, laurels and ancient varieties of Paliano apples.

The label was designed by graphic designer and artist Edoardo Bernardi and elegantly tells the poetry of each sip.

A wine of great elegance and personality, Cesanese is distinguished by an intense and complex bouquet, where notes of cherry, blackberry and small red fruits blend with delicate floral hints of violet and rose, enriched by spicy hints of clove, black pepper and cardamom, and a beautiful balsamicity with hints of the Mediterranean maquis. The palate is harmonious and enveloping, with soft, well-integrated tannins, balanced freshness and a pleasant savoriness that enhances drinkability, ideal to enjoy on its own or in combination with traditional Roman and summer dishes.
